LocAllied is a directory that helps people find local service providers who speak their language. This policy explains what information we handle and why.
1. People who use the app
No account. You do not create an account, and we do not ask for your name to search.
Location. If you tap "Use my location" or type a ZIP code or town, the app uses that place to show providers near you and to sort them by distance. The search sends that place to our server to find results. We do not store it with anything that identifies you, and we do not track your location in the background.
Request a Pro. If you send a request, we store what you type: the service, preferred language, ZIP code or town, your description, and the phone number or email you give us. You must tick the consent box first. We share the request with providers who match it so they can contact you. We delete requests within 12 months, or sooner if you ask.
"I recommend". To count one recommendation per phone, the app creates a random identifier on your device and sends us a scrambled (hashed) version of it. It is not linked to your name, phone number or advertising ID.
Reviews. If you write a review we store your rating, your text, the name you choose to give (optional) and the same scrambled phone identifier, so one phone can review a provider only once. Approved reviews are public. Ask us at any time to delete your review.
Agreeing to the terms. The app keeps, only on your device, the date you ticked "I agree" and which version of the terms it was.
Suggest a provider, claim or removal requests. We store what you submit, including any contact detail you give, so we can act on the request.
Usage counts. We count, without identifying you, how often a profile is viewed and how often Call, WhatsApp or Directions is tapped.
What we do not do. We do not sell personal information. We do not show advertising based on your personal information. We do not use advertising trackers.
2. Service providers listed in the directory
What we list. Business or professional name, services, languages spoken, business address or service area, business phone, email, website and social media page, and license information where available.
Where it comes from. Provider profiles are compiled from publicly available sources, such as the provider's own website, public business listings and search results, professional and licensing directories, and public business pages on social media, and from information providers give us directly. Each profile shows how the language information was obtained.
Your choices as a provider. You can ask us at any time to correct your profile, to claim it, or to remove it. Use "Is this your business?" on your profile or write to locallied.services@gmail.com. We act on removal requests within one business day once we have confirmed the request comes from the business.
3. Service companies we use
We use Supabase (database hosting) and Netlify (hosting of our website and internal tools). In the phone app, maps, directions and address lookup are provided by Apple or Google through your phone. On the website, maps and address lookup use OpenStreetMap, which receives the place you search for. These companies process data on our behalf or under their own privacy policies.
4. Keeping information safe
Data is encrypted in transit. Access to stored requests and to internal notes about providers is limited to LocAllied administrators. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach that affects you, we will notify you as the law requires.
5. Age
LocAllied is for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has sent us their details, write to locallied.services@gmail.com and we will delete them.
6. Your rights
You may ask us to show, correct or delete personal information we hold about you by writing to locallied.services@gmail.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law. We will not treat you differently for using them.
7. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell users in the app.
